Hooked – but not on phonics
I’m passing this along from Dave Inman.
… you may want to check out: Hooked by Dr. Joe Mcilhaney.
I heard an interview with him on American Family Radio. It can be found on free iTunes podcast under: AFR Podcast, American Family News, December 30 interview. There is also a link from the AFR website, and Dr. McIlhaney’s website is www.medinstitute.org .
Dr. McIlhaney a prominent obstetrician/gynecologist and infertility specialist, who is also the founder and chairman of The Medical Institute for Sexual Health. From a medical doctor’s standpoint, he explains the significant destructive physical processes that occur when young people casually “hook up.” This causes an addiction to the dopamine release in men and women, and oxytosin release in women. Long term this causes a physical drive that harms long term marriage.
Additionally, he discusses the extreme rise in cervical cancer, directly caused by the HPV virus. He attacks the culture’s view of acceptable oral sex, that has led to the increased HPV caused throat cancer. This is so common that 60% of college students test positive for HPV.
This is really good, useful, practical stuff.
