Birds and Neighbors

September 4th, 2008 by Danny

What do the two have in common? Both have harvested fruit trees in our yard this year. The birds flocked to the cherry tree one day in May, leaving not even a seed for gleaning. Then recently, as we were leaving to go to church, we noticed several of our neighbors surrounding the fig tree beside our house-holding large bowls of figs. I didn’t know what to say, particularly since I only speak English.

We have made efforts to be good neighbors, we smile and wave on the few occasions we have seen them outside. We have shared fruit from some of the trees at times. But we are limited in our ability to communicate. God has allowed the world to come to our neighborhoods, but we are challenged with how to share His truth with them.

There is fruit to be harvested. Hopefully, we can find ways to accomplish this task.

Interesting story I think I would have taken my figs back! Just kidding! Yes there is fruit to be harvested……. Danny I like your blog. I hope things are going good for you!

Initially, there was a strong urge to do so. But I kept considering how that would have played out. I couldn’t envision a good solution.

    Thank you.
