More Power
Concluding the posts on idling—idling can also be caused by physical factors. In the case with the weedeater, a cable was disconnected. The throttle was not working. The fuel was not getting to the engine. The motor was doing the best it could with what it had to work with, but it needed more power to get the job done.
Physical factors can limit our output as well. Health and weight can impact what we do. But the biggest problem is of a spiritual nature. We cannot accomplish the work of God in our own power. We must be connected to His resources. If we are trying to do the work of God with out the power of the Holy Spirit we are just idling. We are going through the motions and seeing some results, but nothing like what we are designed to do.
Acts 2 illustrates the difference the Holy Spirit can make in a life. Before the Holy Spirit, the apostles were timid and feared for their lives. After the Holy Spirit came they went out with boldness and turned the world upside down. May we do the same.
