Sign Language Resource

March 31st, 2008 by Danny

ASLpro.com is a helpful resource for Sign Language. It includes a variety of tools for teachers and students to learn how to sign more effectively, including a dictionary of religious signs. I am learning that ASL purists discourage mouthing English words while signing, in favor of ASL Mouth Morphemes (mouth movement cues). Still, other experts acknowledge the benefits of mouthing the words in certain situations, particularly for the “non-expert” users and lip-readers. Our ultimate goal is communication of the Word. We hope this event will inspire more young people to learn sign language and develop ministries to the hearing-impaired.
