Good Science
As a high school student, I really struggled with trying to harmonize the Bible with science. I believed the Bible was the inspired Word of God and was without mistake. But there were “facts” of science that challenged the scriptural account. The Gap Theory and Day Age Theory attempted to accommodate a Biblical interpretation that allowed eons of time demanded by the prevailing science. These theories had glaring weaknesses, but what can one do when faced with two contradictory “facts”? The science textbooks said one thing, the Bible said another. Obviously, at least one must be wrong. (Please forgive my pre-postmodernism reasoning, I was just a kid.)
A seminar by two Oklahoma University professors, Edward Blick and John Morris, introduced me to the enlightening study of creation science. I was amazed to discover the sound scientific evidences that support the Biblical record. I was also surprised to learn that many of the so-called facts of science were unprovable theories, which were routinely disputed by other scientists. Blick and Morris championed the authority and accuracy of the Bible.
The Bible is not a science textbook, yet it speaks on scientific matters and is thoroughly reliable on every issue that it addresses. The Bible provides a valuable litmus test for scientific theories. If any aspect of a theory contradicts the clear teaching of Scripture, that theory is flawed. Good science will bow to the authority of Scripture.

I struggled with the same thing growing up.
I was raised in a very good Christian home but I went to public school where everyone had the same scientific answer for everything – “millions of years ago…”, or “billions of years ago…”
The so called “theory of evolution” was taught AS FACT. Scientific textbooks always began with Chapter 1 – The Theory of Evolution, and continued to Chapter 2 (and so on) as though it wasn’t a theory, but as fact. Then there’s the same old answer about “missing links” only to satisfy those blind enough to believe it.
Evolution is not science. Evolution is a dead end, and sadly, people will absolutely take that dead end before they answer to an Almighty God.
I like what you said: “Good science will bow to the authority of Scripture.” -Excellent

You are correct, “Evolution is not science.” It is a religion–a hopeless one at that.
