That’s what was posted on the sign in front of the church when I got back home after Christmas.It had been there all week, so everyone in the community knew that the people in this church were alphabetically challenged.

I hadn’t thought about that until yesterday when I read a church sign that asserted, “When one door closes another opens.”

I wondered as I drove by, “What chapter and verse would they use to support that?” Then I wondered, “How many people driving by think that is from the Bible?”

With all the insightful, universal truths of Scripture, why use pop theology? Give people the Word of God. Present the unchanging truths of inspired Scripture. God’s word has so much more power than our witty sayings. God has promised that His word will not return void. Put something in the head of those driving by that the Holy Spirit can use to soften the heart.
