NSCWC Youth Workers Vision Retreat
Last year’s NSCWC highlighted the need to consider a different time of year for the conference. Fall is a busy time for everyone, especially youth workers. So, only one question: what, when, and where? Ok, that’s three questions, but they are all tied together. The goal is to find a program that appeals to your interests, a time that fits most schedules, and a location that will meet your needs.
The “what” for this year is a Youth Worker’s Vision Retreat. It’s a time for youth workers to come together to brainstorm, discuss needs, dreams, goals, and evaluate their progress. This will also be an occasion to help chart the course for the development of future SCM projects. It will even include enough free time to qualify as a retreat, a time for refreshing and reflection; not just a schedule crammed with meetings. The “when” is sometime from mid January to early February. “Where” is the biggest piece of this puzzle. Since it’s in the winter, how about Orlando, San Antonio, or a cruise?
It’s your vision, you get to be involved in planning the event. Share your input, post your comments or email scm@randallhouse.com.
