Great Faith

June 23rd, 2007 by Danny

We consider it a test of faith when God told Abraham to offer his only son, Isaac, as a sacrifice, (Gen. 22). Heb. 11:17-19 reveals Abraham was confident God could raise Isaac from the dead, if necessary. But the evidence of Abraham’s faith was not in this statement. Abraham’s faith is shown by his obedience.

Obedience to the command of God is often more a matter of submission to His will rather than faith in His ability. A certain amount of faith is required to believe that God will keep His word; but once that issue is settled, the question becomes, Will I keep His word?

Don’t worry about having great faith. Most battles we face will be decided if we simply obey the clear instructions of God’s Word in our day-to-day choices.
