As Jesus hung on the cross, there were those who taunted Him to save Himself if He was the Son of God.  Even one of the thieves hanging beside Him said, “If you are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”  But there was the dilemma.  He could not save Himself and us.    He could only save Himself or us.  Thankfully, He followed through with His plan to save us.  His death on the cross is our salvation.

His death was still not the end of the story.  He did not prove Himself to be the Son of God by coming down from the cross.  He chose to prove His power by coming out of the grave!
